This news is sure to bring smile to millions of people across the world – The biggest event in Sports – The Olympics – will be live streamed on Youtube. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) have announced that it will live stream the London 2012 Olympic Games in 64 territories on the IOC’s channel on YouTube.

With this announcement, many countries in Asia and Africa will get live coverage of this mega-sporting event free of charge on internet through Youtube, India included!
Some of Asian countries include – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Bhutan, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam
It will be for the first time that Olympics will broadcasted on Internet through-out the world on such a mass scale. With millions of devices connected to Internet, sporting fans will be able to watch the sporting event on Computer, mobile phones and tablets.
Infact, personally, I, like many others, would probably prefer watching Olympics on Youtube. The simple reason being I can watch as per my choice and convenience. The Youtube Olympics live streaming will be having 11 simultaneous high-definition channels all with English commentary, so users can choose which one they would like to watch. On Television, you don’t have a choice!
Events like Indian Premier League have been hit on Internet with millions of cricket fans taking advantage of live streaming. At the same time, TV audience is witnessing a fall in viewership.
